Welcome to the home of playwright and workshop leader Michael Southan!
Michael graduated from Staffordshire University in 2013 with a BA degree in Drama, Performance and Theatre Arts. Having had a passion for writing and theatre for many years, he wished to put his love of words to good use and focus on the craft of dramatic writing.
Michael believes that, living with Cerebral Palsy has given him a unique writing voice and the drive to make theatre and creative opportunities accessible to all.
Michael is particularly drawn to writing that has a strong culture/social resonence. He enjoys reading the work of Roy Williams, Abi Morgan, Dennis Kelly and Harold Pinter.
Away from the theatre, Michael is rooted deeply into his family enjoying traveling, sport and the odd computer game.
